The GP-BCB National Academy found the hard road on the second day of their four-day game against their South African counterparts at Tukkies in Pretoria yesterday.Replying to the visitors' 217, the South African Academy side made 256 for two at tea.Stiaan van Zyl slammed 136 while Dan Vila was unbeaten on 59 after opener Rushdi Jappie stormed his way to 56.Occasional off-spinner Shamsur Rahman and paceman Mahbubul Alam took one wicket apiece.Earlier, sent into bat first, the tourists passed the 200-run mark with two useful fifties from Marshall Ayub and Imrul Kayes.Marshall marked his comeback after a long injury layoff with a fine 62 while left-handed opener Imrul made 56. Shamsur Rahman came up with a brisk 46 but Jahurul Islam (1), Farhad Hossain (2), Nadif Chowdhury (14) and wicketkeeper Sahagir Hossain (12) and skipper Suhrawardi Shuvo (0) were big disappointments.CJ de Villiers claimed four for 29 while Vid Merwe captured three wickets.
